Greetings from IDSO. We hope to see many of you in Boston at the annual IDSA meeting October 20-23, 2011. It offers a packed agenda of useful information and opportunities. You should also receive an invitation for the IDSO dinner meeting Saturday evening October 22 at Salvatore’s Restaurant. Please RSVP for this function and be ready for an enjoyable evening of brief education, updates and reminiscing.
Our state society continues to be extremely well represented at the national level in IDSA, SHEA, and National Foundation of Infectious Disease and in our state legislature. Please congratulate and thank our members for their effort on our behalf.
Under the leadership and perseverance of Steve Burdette, IDSO will host a one day fellow’s ID Board Review Session next spring. We hope this provides our fellows in training with a great focused board review, an opportunity to network and become better acquainted. Additionally it acknowledges that our organization values them. Please encourage each of your second year fellows to attend.
Our Annual Spring IDSO meeting has been set for April 14, 2012 in Columbus. Please mark your calendars and plan to attend. In an effort to develop a meaningful and useful meeting, I am reactivating our state regional counselors to assist in development of our agenda. If you have ideas or topics of interest, please forward them to me.
Another year has passed. The global and national economies continue to struggle, the cost of health care steadily rises and the health care act remains in flux while our reimbursement stagnates or decreases. All are reasons to remain together as a cohesive organization and force.
If we don’t see you in Boston, I hope to see you in Columbus next spring.
